For a number of women and girls, home is not a safe place. Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is a silent epidemic that shatters lives, families, and communities. The reality is that even men are victims of GBV. It steals dignity, silences voices, and perpetuates a cycle of trauma. The Jack and Emily Foundation refuses to stand by and watch.
Anchored by our philosophy of “Faith in Action,” we are committed to being a shield for the vulnerable. Our work in combating GBV is practical, urgent, and life-saving.
1. The Women’s Safe Home: A Sanctuary for Survivors
Statistics have shown that women are the ones who are mostly affected by GBV. Our action has been to offer a solution that restores dignity. Our endeavor is to always provide a safe shelter, a confidential haven where women and their children can escape violent situations. This is more than just a roof over their heads; it’s a place to heal. Here, they find:
- Safety and Security: Protection from their abusers.
- Counseling and Support: Trauma-informed care to begin the healing process.
- Empowerment: Resources and skills training to build an independent, self-sufficient future.
This home is a place where dignity is restored, and hope for a new beginning is nurtured.
2. Creation of Awareness Films: Breaking the Silence
Silence is GBV’s greatest ally. To fight it, we must bring it into the light. The Jack and Emily Foundation is at the core of ensuring that there is awareness by creating content and teaching on GBV which help in:
- Recognizing the signs of abuse.
- Understanding that GBV is a crime, not a private matter.
- Knowing how to safely report violence and access help.
These tools are not just telling stories; they are lifelines, empowering victims to escape and encouraging communities to stand against injustice.
This work is critical, but it is also resource-intensive. Maintaining a safe home, providing food and counseling, and producing educational materials requires consistent support. Your donation can be the difference between a life of fear and a future of freedom.
Partner with the Jack and Emily Foundation. Help us protect the vulnerable and build a society where every woman and child is safe and respected.
